Parking on Campus: What You Need to Know for 2025/26

What’s new!

Starting May 1, 2025, the following changes will take effect:

  • Student Permits - Fall Semester permits will be available in mid/late July. We will provide advance notice on our website closer to this date.
    • Graduate Students may purchase black, red, or yellow zone permits, depending on availability. 
    • Commuting students may purchase red, or yellow zone permits, depending on availability. 
    • Residence students may purchase yellow zone permits.  Residence students are required to park in designated lots located near their residence locations.
    • Permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 
    • Waitlists may become available when all permits zones are full.
  • NEW! Blue Zone Permits – Available for faculty and staff.  Allow you to purchase a Blue Zone permit valid in designated area or lots.  Refer to the parking rate chart below for rates and parking zones. 
  • Discounted Permits – Faculty, staff, and students can purchase the P59 Only, P18 Only (NEW), and Gordon Hall Only permits at a reduced monthly rate. Parking is allowed only in the designated lot corresponding to the permit purchased.
  • Daily permits - Available for faculty, staff and students. Daily permits can be purchased in advance with the exception of Red Zone Daily permits.  They can be purchased on the day of. Quantities are limited and can sell out. If your preferred permit is not available, you must select another option.
  • NEW! EV Daily Permits – Available for faculty, staff and students.  EV/Red zone permits allow you to park at any red zone EV charger or red zone.  Some red zone locations are limited to 4 hours max per day.  EV/Yellow zone permits allow you to park at any yellow zone EV charger or yellow zone.  You must park in an appropriate red or yellow zone when charging is complete or not required.
  • Parking Maintenance and Improvements - Campus Parking Services will continue to make repairs to roads, parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Updated Parking Policy and Regulations.

How to purchase a permit

To purchase a permit, you’ll need an account with Parking Services.

  1. Complete a Student or Faculty/Staff Parking Account Request form online.  If you had a parking permit in 2024-25, skip this step.
  2. Once you have an account, visit the Parking Services Website.
  3. Log in with your central log-in credentials to purchase a permit.

If you currently have a payroll deduction permit (black, red, yellow and EV permits) for 2024/25 and want to continue doing so, your permit will automatically renew for May 1, 2025. If you would like to cancel your payroll deduction permit for May 1st, please fill out the Permit Cancellation Form before May 1st.

If you are a current Black Zone permit holder who purchases your permit, you will be able to renew your permit for May 2025.  A separate letter with instructions will be sent to you.  If you do not wish to renew your permit please fill out the Permit Cancellation Form before May 1st.  If you would like to get a Black zone permit for the first time, please add yourself to the online waitlist from your online parking account.  When space becomes available you will be notified via email.

New to Payroll Deduction: If you would like to sign up for payroll, login to your online parking account, click “get permits” and follow the prompts.  There are a variety of payroll deduction permits available. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I won’t be coming to campus until September. Do I need to buy my permit in July?

It is encouraged to purchase a permit at this time. Permits are sold on a first come first served basis and quantities are limited.  Payment is required at the time of purchase.  For more information on permit types and availability, check out the parking website.

Q: I’m coming to campus only a few days a week. What permit is right for me?

First, determine how many days you require parking in a calendar month. Once you know this, you can calculate the cost to determine what permit is best for you.

There are a variety of daily permits with varying costs and locations. Daily permits for  EV, Yellow Zone, P18 Only, P59 Only & Gordon Hall Only can be purchased in advance.  Daily permits for Red Zones cannot be purchased in advance. These daily permits are available at 12:01am each day.

Daily permits are available first come first served and quantities are limited.

Q: I’m a student. What Permit Zone can I buy?

Graduate Students: Black Zone, Red Zone, Yellow Zone, Gordon Hall, P59 and P18 (NEW).

Q: I purchase parking passes for my department. What are my options and what is the cost?

Departments have multiple options for visitors attending campus:  Departmental Reservations Form (P31/P44), Departmental Event Forms, Departmental Guest Request Form and Departmental Permits The cost varies depending on selection.

Q: How do I create a parking account?

Complete a Student or Faculty/Staff Parking Account Request form online. You will receive email confirmation when your account has been activated. This is only required for NEW parkers.

Q:  How do I cancel my payroll deduction permit?

If you would like to cancel your payroll deduction permit for May 1st, please fill out the Permit Cancellation Form before May 1st.
