Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to facilitate the safe and orderly conduct of University traffic and parking activity to effect University mission by:

  • Supporting pedestrian and vehicular traffic accessing, entering onto, circulating within, and exiting from University property.
  • Providing parking services on University property established through and consistent with the University Campus Master Plan.

The Policy

The Responsible Officer has overall responsibility, authority, and jurisdiction for the development, implementation, and administration of this policy, including enforcement of applicable legislation on University property. Operational responsibilities are delegable to University units:

  • Physical Resources: Responsible for planning, design, development, and maintenance of University property, including the master plan.
  • Campus Parking Services: Manages parking operations and enforcement at the main campus in Guelph, Ontario.
  • Campus Safety Office: Responsible for enforcing legislation and University policy on University property.

This policy applies at all times to every person on University property and to every vehicle accessing or circulating within the property. Violators may face sanctions, including fines, revocation of privileges, and potential disciplinary action.
